  • Mr. Bilal Farooq Zardi

    CEO & Secretary General

    Mr. Bilal Farooq Zardi is the founding Chief Executive Officer and Secretary General of the Pakistan Stock Brokers Association (PSBA) and has been leading the organization since its inception. He is one of the youngest CEOs in Pakistan, overseeing the national representative body for stock brokers of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). He has played a crucial role in establishing and managing the PSBA, which has performed exceptionally well in ensuring representation for its members, both locally and internationally.

    Mr. Zardi has a Master's degree with specializations in International Relations, Company Affairs, and International Principles of Law. In addition, he has been awarded various certifications in Capital Markets, such as Fundamentals of Capital Markets, Pakistan Market Regulations, as well as Islamic Finance for Inclusive Growth, through a program offered by the Asian Development Bank in collaboration with IFAAS. He is also recognized for his work ethic and discipline.

    He is a member of the Asia Securities Forum's Member Council. He has extensive experience in company affairs, business operations, capital markets, and corporate law, managing complex financial and legal issues.

    Mr. Zardi has been a prominent speaker at numerous public forums, including the electronic media, to share his industry experience.

    In addition to his public engagements, he is routinely invited as a guest speaker at several esteemed academic institutions, contributing to knowledge sharing and capacity building among students and young professionals. His speaking engagements include leading universities such as the Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), Ilma University, Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Institute of Business & Health Management (IBHM-DUHS), Iqra University (IU), Karachi University Business School (KUBS), Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Millenium Institute of Technology & Entrepreneurship (MITE), National Incubation Center (NIC).

    His continued commitment to the development of the capital market and financial literacy reflects his passion for fostering a more robust and inclusive financial ecosystem in Pakistan. Additionally, he has participated in various road shows both in Pakistan and internationally to promote the corporate sector. Notably, he had the honor of representing Pakistan for the first time at the 16th ASF Tokyo Roundtable, which was held in Tokyo, Japan.

    Due to his diverse experience, he is routinely invited by the Apex and Frontline Regulatory Bodies to deliberate on a host of technical and specialized matters. In addition, he has served in various committees, formed for the development of Pakistan’s Capital Market.

    Some key initiatives during his leadership included the Implementation of the New Trading & Surveillance System at PSX, the Launching of an Industry Awareness Program, and the groups formed for Pakistan’s First Professional Clearing Member, the Centralized Gateway Portal, Digital Onboarding, AML/CFT Regulatory Framework, Joint Inspection Mechanism, Shared KYC Mechanism, and Budget Advocacy & Tax Rationalization.
